ACANTHUS Floral Teas is my college senior thesis project.
ACANTHUS Floral Teas is a tea company that strives to show consumers the beauty of flowers from not only the surface but also the roots - in their symbolism and herbalist properties. Through hand-illustrated line drawings, a warm earthy color palette, and balanced characteristic typefaces, ACANTHUS Floral Teas provides a welcoming aura for tea traditionalists as well as those who are looking to ‘dip their toe’ into the vast world of tea. Education is our basic core value at ACANTHUS, which is why we incorporate the symbolic and herbalist information of flowers in all of our packaging and marketing materials. Just as tea has health benefits, many flowers hold properties as well that enhance and promote well-being similarly if not more expansive than tea alone ever could.
In the ACANTHUS branding, there are six posters, each one tied to a specific flower - Acanthus, Marigold, Rose, Orchid, Sunflower, and Lavender. The posters reflect a definition style layout where the name of the flower is given followed by pronunciation. The ‘definition’ will consist of the herbalist properties that that flower holds, followed by it’s symbolism/meaning. This definition-style poster template was chosen to clearly layout the information and once again exemplify our value of education.
